3D Animations (Videos)
On this page, you will find some of
the 3D animations that I have produced. The animations will range anywhere from 5 seconds long
to several minutes. I try my best to only submit the most interesting animations so as not to bore anyone! Below are the
general instructions for downloading and watching these animations.

Animations are in Windows Media (WMV) format. |

General Animations
|
The
Snowman |
Resolution: 640 x 480 (Converted from HQ 320 x 240) |
Duration: 00m 29s |
File Size: 4.29MB |
Filename: The_Snowman.wmv |
Here is a small animation featuring the snowman that I initially created during one of my short exercises (as can be seen in the 3D Stills gallery). It was actually more of a snow/particle test than a full-fledged animation attempt, but you may still find it somewhat amusing. Audio included. |
|
The
Scrambled Television |
Resolution: 640 x 480 (Converted from LQ 320 x 240) |
Duration: 01m 29s |
File Size: 10.27MB |
Filename: The_Scrambled_TV.wmv |
This short film remains one of my most complete animations to date! In total, I spent over one month producing the video at both my old school and at home, and it took another 2-4 weeks to render out all of the individual frames. All elements within the animation, with the exception of the concluding footage, is entirely my own work. The end footage has actually changed a number of times. Audio included. |

Skills
USA National Competition Entry |
Resolution: 640 x 480 (Converted from LQ 320 x 240) |
Duration: 00m 46s |
File Size: 5.50MB |
Filename: Skills_USA_Nationals.wmv |
Originally created for the Skills
USA National Competition of 2004. We were to replicate a stomach
cross-section based on a professional video that the judges supplied. I am the lucky one who had to model and animate the stomach itself, while my modeling partner created the 'inside of mouth' portions. Overall, we ended up placing 6th in the nation and did better on the written exam than any other team. No audio.

Skills
USA State Competition Entry |
Resolution: 640 x 480 (Converted from LQ 320 x 240) |
Duration: 00m 38s |
File Size: 4.62MB |
Filename: Skills_USA_State.wmv |
Produced for the Skills USA
State Competition of 2004. We were asked to create and render an animation illustrating
the Skills USA motto "Champions At Work" in a strict 8 hours. My 3D animation partner worked on the outside scenes while I did the inside. We went on to nationals from here. No audio. |
|
School
Dancer |
Resolution: 640 x 480 (Converted from LQ 320 x 240) |
Duration: 00m 08s |
File Size: 1.04MB |
Filename: School_Dancer.wmv |
A very short animation featuring a primitive figure dancing around in a school's hallway. This was primarily to test realistic 3D shadows in conjunction with a real-life photograph. And yes, I realize that he is a BIG man, but still... No audio. |
|
|
Resolution: 640 x 480 (Converted from LQ 320 x 240) |
Duration: 00m 30s |
File Size: 3.65MB |
Filename: The_Crayon.wmv |
This was another one of my first
full 3D animations, created initially just to test the 'crayon drawing' effect I stumbled upon. I will admit that I really went overboard with the camera movements and could have done more so that it wouldn't feel as though the room was floating in the air! Audio included. |
|
The Toothbrush |
Resolution: 640 x 480 (Converted from LQ 320 x 240) |
Duration: 00m 41s |
File Size: 4.94MB |
Filename: The_Toothbrush.wmv |
My first official full-length 3D
animation that amounted to more than just an experiment. This short feature stars an adventurous toothbrush that happens to go just a little too far in his yearning to explore. Audio included. |
|
Butter Churn |
Resolution: 640 x 480 |
Duration: 00m 06s |
File Size: 1.15MB |
Filename: Butter Churn.wmv |
After modeling a simple butter churn, I created this animation specifically to illustrate the different pieces of the model. No audio. |
Animation Experiments
|
Molten Lava Connectivity Test |
Resolution: 640 x 480 (Converted from LQ 320 x 240) |
Duration: 00m 12s |
File Size: 1.40MB |
Filename: Molten_Lava.wmv |
A very rough test of materials and metaball-like connectivity patterns across various spheres. Lava Lamp style. No audio. |
|
Acid Particles Name Writing |
Resolution: 640 x 480 (Converted from LQ 320 x 240) |
Duration: 00m 12s |
File Size: 1.52MB |
Filename: Acid_Particles.wmv |
I was experimenting with the then new Particle Flow system of 3DS Max
6 when I came up with this acid-rain, name-writing type of effect. No audio. |
|
Bomb Explosion Effect |
Resolution: 640 x 480 |
Duration: 00m 05s |
File Size: 552KB |
Filename: Bomb_Explosion.wmv |
This exploding bomb effect utilizes a multitude of different particle systems and volumetric effects. I have integrated an explosion sound effect that I originally created for my Bombzuka game. |
